Pittsfield Woman Receives Exceptional Short-term Care at Hillcrest Commons

Hillcrest Commons Admits, Treats, and Discharges a Healthy Patient During Height of COVID-19 Pandemic

Gail B., of Pittsfield, MA, was admitted to Hillcrest Commons after suffering two falls at home. She experienced significant skin tears on both shins, a knee strain, the sensation of being off-balance, and worsening leg edema caused by weight gain. Thanks to the extensive staff education and creative delivery of PT and OT services, Gail was given the safe space she needed to recover. Nurses dressed her leg wounds daily and therapists gave her the tools she needed to return home. After 30 days, Gail was discharged feeling safe and healthy – even during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
